• Recognize the ongoing collaborative efforts in New Mexico that address future implementation of Telehealth and health information technologies.
  
  
• Discuss practical considerations in complying with regulatory requirements, including: National Provider Identifier (NPI), HIPAA, and other Privacy and Security standards.
  
  
• Explain the potential return on investment of Health Information Technology (HIT) systems.
  
  
• Examine the elements of well-designed pay for performance (P4P) programs, and identify the critical role played by HIT in the implementation of P4P.
  
  
• Evaluate and select HIT systems, networks, and applications that best meet the identified clinical, administrative, and financial needs of each organization.
